“This looks for me like a parrastoel”. Now, gather round children, let me explain why this is relevant to a South African, and why it would be really really funny. Afrikaans, as spoken by nearly most of that weird country, is a strange language and is often pronounced rather differently to the spelling. Take “paddastoel” for example. It means “mushroom” - no biggie you might say. True. But to a local who knows that it in some parts it is pronounced “parrastoel”, and that “parra” (frog) is often used to describe the female anatomy… heh.
