Are there some open minded blacks who love whites and trying to defend whites too in SA The white genocide or boer killings are all over youtube and google. It depresses me to know Zuma wants whites to be killed, is he winning with the plan to kill the boers? they're saying "if nelson dies they'll kill all whites" Is nelson against or pro white?
I don’t know when this message came in, last century? Anyhoo, I’m always surprised by lack of information about the realities of life in South Africa : let me break it down for you all…
Despite what YouTube offers up, life here is pretty much the same as you’d expect to find anywhere in the civilized world (I’m writing this from my iPad in a Mugg & Bean (think Starbucks) with 2 wifi options, great cappuccinos and a menu that has several mouthwatering glossy pages). I’ll be leaving the mall (one of many many large malls in the city much like America) in my car after I stock up on groceries from one of 2 nationwide grocery chains, and heading home to finish wire framing a web design on my Mac. This evening…. You get my point. The politics however, is what you’re really wanting to know about : and therein lies the rub. The rhetoric, posturing and nonsensical garbage spewing from the overrated power players are mostly harmless and must be understood in context i.e. a lot gets lost in translation when someone whose first language is not English, but Xhosa, Zulu, Ndebele etc.. tries to make speeches in English. But there is cause for concern because when heard, these speeches espouse hatred, and a big dollop of ignorance. The reason we have misguided unintelligent people weilding power is a direct result of the vacuum left when the mostly white government vacated their positions. It left the systems wide open for abuse such as cronyism, theft, corruption. The hatemongering rhetoric, used mostly to garner support before election years, are taken literally by the uneducated in rural areas which has led to the murder sprees on farms. This will pass in time as the education gap catches up (not for lack of facilities by the previous white government btw, but by closed-mindedness and blind hatred). I wouldn’t paint a country by these newly coined power players who have a voice, much the same way I wouldn’t view all Americans as teapartiers. No, SA is not perfect. But life goes on, and we “whites” share the responsibility with “blacks” (I use the inverteds with tongue in cheek) to get the economy going again and to continue being the powerhouse of Africa. Life here is pretty normal. Zuma might be a dolt, but he won’t be biting the hand that feeds.
