I am a racist →

response to Brett Murray’s ‘The Spear’. Google it.

The rant is not misplaced. I am too tired to comment otherwise. I have a blinding migraine. The immorality of the government, the lies, the highway robbery, the incompetence… Hell, every government in the world can be accused of the same. But the race card has been overplayed in this country to the point of exasperation. For the large part, in my personal experience, we have all moved on. Us white “racists” that is. We just want to get on with the job of making this country a great place. I know the frustration of this writer. I’ve experienced it many times. Calling out Incompetence, immoraIity, lies, cheating, stupidity is not racist, it is exactly what it is. For a long time the ANC has held the moral high ground, and we all knew it, kept quiet and moved on. But sadly they have abused that position, misled the people, and should be told so.
I am not racist in the context of the correct definition. But racist no longer means racist. It just means whatever they hell they want it to mean, which today means “if you privileged people don’t shut up, you’re a racist”. Pease note I did not say “privileged white people”. Because I know a few privileged people from many races I can call friends, who think the same. I’m tired.

Brett Murray, art imitates life. I’m sorry your art was defaced. It has however, moved beyond just a piece of art, it has become iconic. And you have now become a legend.
